Why Growth Must Disturb The Familiar

What an accidental Substack email reminded me about growth, loss and becoming someone new.

Hello everyone - yes, it’s John! 😂

I say this because today you may have received an email from an alternate timeline with a Substack written by Julien, who works behind the scenes with us!

Back on our current timeline, I can confirm that this detour was an entirely innocent mistake. He was logged into our publication rather than his own, published his post and, before anyone realised what had happened, the email had escaped into the wild.

But once I’d got over the initial shock of seeing someone else’s name appearing in your inbox from my Substack, it reminded me of something important about change.

You know, whenever we face a challenge or decide there’s something we want to change, I think we often unconsciously want the world to stay exactly the same…

…but just include that one change.
